After accidently breaking off that peduncle the plant just had a failure to thrive and just sat there for months. It eventually started to lose leaves, and I managed to take a few tiny cuttings and re-rooted them in Fluval Stratum. One of the new plants began to grow steadily and the other succumbed to root rot and did not make it. The plant that started to do very well was living on a heating pad keeping the roots constantly warm. I theorize that this is a plant that is very susceptible to root rot, which was exacerbated by the cold conditions in my basement grow tents.
