After being exposed to several nights in the upper 40°s and low 50°s buds began to form on many of the peduncles on the plant.  Then we were hit with a heat wave, and I began to despair that I would lose the buds!  I did lose buds on several of the peduncles, but not on this one; they continued to advance.
