New Learning How Production Uploaded to You Tube

I have just uploaded Hoya Trellising 101 Part One: Bamboo Hoops to You Tube.  If you have been growing Hoyas for a while, I doubt you will learn anything here, but if you are fairly new to it, you may pick up a few tips.  It is the first, in what I hope to be a trilogy of trellising videos.  The next one will be working with wire.  Here is the link:  http://youtu.be/GbsPLGFYKoo

Hoya griffithii From This Morning

Hoya griffithii is a great hoya that has a pretty large flower (around 1 inch or 2cm point to point), and blooms fairly early; mine is only a little over a year old from cutting and is covered in buds.  There will be two videos of this plant in the near future: a new time-lapse of the blooms opening and one called A Visit with Hoya griffithii.

A Visit with Hoya patella

I have just uploaded a new “Hoya Tour” video to You Tube entitled A Visit with Hoya patella.  There will be many of these videos coming to You Tube and this site over the long cold winter ahead.  The biggest reason for these short films is that I think that a video can show the growth habits of a plant far better than a still photograph ever can.  I also feel that these videos help differentiate this site from plethora of other Internet Hoya sites.  Without further ado: http://youtu.be/Dl_xWvHfHig

Plenty of Stuff in the Pipe Line!

I’ve been very busy still trying to get the plants back into the house so I’ve not had much time to post lately.  I have however been feverishly working on some new videos.  Look for a very cool Halloween themed Hoya video to make an appearance some time in October.  Also in the works is another Learning How Production called Hoya Trellising 101.  Meanwhile here is a photo I managed to snap a few minutes ago of Hoya campanulata fully in bloom with multiple peduncles open at once.

How to Re-Pot the Severely Root-bound Hoya

Here is the link to my 51st You Tube Video entitled How to Repot the Severely Root-bound Hoya:  http://youtu.be/CjJYCEScuHY

It was filmed in the early summer of this year, and shows just how root-bound some Hoyas can get in a relatively short amount of time.  Hoya species are all extremely different – some can go for years and develop only a relatively small root system, and others … Take a look at the video for yourself to see what I’m babbling about!

New Photo of Hoya rotundiflora

Here is a new photo of Hoya rotundiflora taken this morning – Not the best photo, but it was just a quick snapshot.  Also, I have never had it bloom before at this time of the year.  This plant is really a neat little Hoya that everyone really ought to have.  Tomorrow look for a new video to be posted to You Tube.  It is a 7 or 8 minute tour of Hoyas in the greenhouse titled not surprisingly The 2012 Hoya Greenhouse Tour.

New Photo of Hoya cinnamomifolia

Here is a new photo of Hoya cinnamomifolia taken today.  Look forward to two new videos of this plant sometime in the future – one a fantastic new time-lapse of the bloom opening and a tour of the plant titled A Visit with Hoya cinnamomifolia.
