Hoya griffithii Was Name For Its First Describer

Thomas Hooker described Hoya griffithii in 1850 and named it after William Griffith, its first describer in the border area of Bangladesh and India.  There are a number of plants named after this amateur botanist, who unfortunately died at age 35 from a parasitic liver disease. Here is my first photo of the mostly open flowers taken this week.
