New Year’s Eve Reflections

2015 was a great Hoya Year for me.  I flowered many Hoyas for the first time, and if I had to pick the three that meant the most it would be the following:

Hoya mitrata from April.  It has a deserved reputation for being difficult, and I felt great being able to flower it.

Hoya wightii ssp. palniensis from September.  It was a very difficult three year journey with this one to finally get to see blooms.

Finally It was a thrill to be able to say that I have flowered two different clones of Hoya imperialis.  Here is Hoya imperialis ‘Mary’s Cottage’ Palawan from December.

I was also thrilled with having been chosen to provide photos for the article on Hoyas in the RHS publication the Plantsman.  Of all the great things that happened to me in 2015, I am most thrilled that I have been able to keep to this daily blog now almost unstopped for close to five years.  Thanks to everyone who reads it, and thanks for sticking around!
