In nature Hoya mitrata lives in symbiosis with ants and form large cabbage shaped leaves.  I have read on other websites that H. mitrata likes it moist, but I have not found that to be the case and have lost it when trying to keep it that way.  Here is a photo of the leaves on my plant:
