Hoya lacunosa ‘Royal Flush’ is my favorite of all of the lacunosa clones or cultivars.  Incredibly floriferous, sweet smelling, and gorgeous foliage are all attributes of this outstanding plant.  I have just uploaded a video tour of the plant to You Tube; here is the link: youtu.be/xtNY8XAQeNo

I think I have a new Favorite Hoya.  H. calycina has just bloomed and the flowers look good enough to eat!  They remind me a little bit of candy canes; as a matter of fact the only thing that could make this plant more perfect would be if it bloomed at Christmas time.  The blooms smell so sweet and flowery.  I love everything about it, and also it needs no special treatment such as grow tents and artificial lighting like so many of my other plants do to bloom.

I have just added a new heading to the site called Just the Flowers Ma’am.  This is the area of the site where I will be adding links to a new breed of Time-lapse video.  These videos will be very simple and show only the beautiful footage of flowers opening usually to a classical music piece.  There will be no travelogue footage, cats, or other humorous touches.  I will still be making those videos as well, but they will not come under the Just the Flowers Ma’am heading.  My very first addition to this area is Hoya calycina – I think is is quite beautiful and here is the link to that video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFLDaqanARA&list=UU9DxwWm4t5SE9tg_5WowesA&index=1&feature=plcp

I will have great new photos of Hoya cv. Noelle to add to the site over the weekend and Hoya calcynia is close to opening!  So I should have photos to put up of that plant as well.  On top of all of that there will be a new video uploaded to You Tube as well.  Plenty to look forward to!  For now I leave you with a new photo snapped this morning of Hoya davidcumingii showing two blooms at one time.

Here is Hoya citrina from this week; a plant that I have almost gotten rid of on a number of occasions.  This year it has performed very well and produced two outstanding peduncles of blooms that smell heavenly.  I have filmed a video tour of the plant that will be up on You Tube at some point soon.
