Hoya Grow Tent Basics or Grow Tent 101

I have been asked by a few people to make a video talking about the grow tents that I use to help bloom and grow the more temperamental Hoyas.  Well here it is!  It is 14 minutes long and shows the assembly process, and what you can do with a grow tent.

What I’m Currently Working On and a Healthy Hoya samoensis

I’m currently putting together another Learning How Production on setting up and using a grow tent.  I think it will run around 15 minutes and be up in the next few days.  I’m still being plagued by Spider Mites (They are nasty little #@&!*&).  I just tried a new product called Azamax that has fairly good reviews of people who have used it.  I will report back in a few weeks on its effectiveness.   Other than that there is not too much going on here other than the daily and weekly Hoya chores and hoping that Spring comes early.  Here is a photo I took this morning of  an extremely healthy Hoya samoensis.  This is only achievable where I live by growing in Leca in a high humidity grow-room.

New Movie (My 75th!)

I have just uploaded my 75th video to You Tube.  It will take you back to those beautiful warm, humid, lazy, crazy days of summer!  I need that right now, as we are  predicted to have the coldest week of weather that we have had for the past several winters.  I’m pumping around 10 gallons of water into the air with humidifiers just to get the RH to 45%.  If the Hoyas can make it through these conditions, they can make it through anything!  Here is my newest You Tube video entitled A Visit with Hoya motoskei and Hoya crassifolia:

A Visit with Hoya vitellinoides

It is full-on winter here right now, and pretty tough sledding for the Hoyas in these inhospitable conditions .  Here is a new video presentation taken over the summer of Hoya vitellinoides, which I hope will give all of you hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and also an appreciation of this great Hoya.
