Photographs Show Prodigious Growth Rate of Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348

Below are two photos of Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348.  They were taken about 11 months apart.  Look at the huge growth rate of the plant.  It also illustrates a problem I have with many of my Hoyas.  They get too big, often getting to the point where I can’t handle them easily any longer.  It is now in an 8 inch pot and really wants to be in a 10 inch pot, but I can’t really allow it as I don’t have that kind of space.

Growing Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348 Part Two

Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348 flowered for the first time last summer outdoors in a tent greenhouse with strong sunlight.  Apparently it does need very strong light in order to flower.  I have subsequently flowered it under artificial light, but it was quite intense.

Growing Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348

Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348 is a very vigorous plant that is tough and wants to grow wildly especially in the confines of a humid, very warm, grow-tent. It is a plant that grows so well, it needs regular potting up to maintain its vigor.

Time to Talk About Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348

I not exactly sure of the details, but I think that I got this plant as a cutting from Ric Morier in Florida in 2015.  The tag on it says Hoya vitellina IML 1348, but I see that everyone else on line is calling it Hoya sp. aff. vitellina IML 1348 so I guess that is what I will do.  Here is a photo of the leaves, which are actually a lot nicer, but I had some bleaching from strong sunlight going on here.
