I received a cutting of this Hoya in the summer of 2019 from Jimmy Myers in North Carolina. I had been struggling with Hoya onychoides New (AH-307) for sometime having had to start it over an number of times. So I was kind of ambivalent about this one, but I planted it in soil and it rooted up. It grew okay for awhile, but then as was happening to so many of my plants in that period, the roots rotted.
Here is a photo of the very first flowers just opening up on Hoya onychoides New (AH-455); the scent was unbelievable! Tomorrow I will start describing my history with the plant and how I grew it.
I believe these pubicalyx clones are now called pubicorolla, but you know what, I will let the experts name them, and I will just continue growing them. RHP depending upon the conditions under which it is grown can have flowers that border on being almost black, or the more typical color here. Sunlight produces the darkest flowers in my experience.
I believe that this is the first time that the plant formerly known as Hoya pubicalyx White Dragon has flowered for me in 2021. The benefits of growing in tents are clear!
The flowers of Hoya mirabilis have to be experienced in person to really appreciate how great they are. My plant continues to produce lots of flowers. Here is one from this morning that I applied a filter to:
Hoya linearis is a plant that I have no real understanding of; when it grows well it is awesome, but it can go downhill with one watering mistake. All I can say is enjoy it while you can!
Here is something that you don’t see every day. It is too bad that so many of the darwinii leaves are so ugly, but that is the nature of the beast as far as that plant and myself.

Hoya kanyakumariana is such a sweet little plant, and its flowers are among the most delicate of all the Hoya flowers.
It took me a while to get this plant going strongly, but now it just won’t stop flowering. This is the first time that I have had 11 flowers on a single peduncle.
