Movie Double Feature

I recently put up two new time-lapse videos.  One shows the flowers opening on Hoya stoneana, and another shows baby spiders moving about shortly after hatching.  I know spiders aren’t my usual thing, but I saw these on the siding of my home, and I couldn’t resist!  Here are Just the Flowers Ma’am Hoya stoneana and Looking for Mum Baby Spiders.

A Visit with Hoya aff. clemensiorum

From last summer here is a video showing the remarkable leaves and flowers of Hoya aff. clemensiorum.  This is a plant that I needed to start over after the video was taken as the roots were rotted off.  It is only now beginning to show signs of life again.  It is not an easy Hoya to grow, and I would not recommend it for beginners.

A Visit with Hoya filiformis AKA Hoya chlorantha var. tutuilensis

I bought this plant as Hoya filiformis from Thailand, but understand that the name has been changed to Hoya chlorantha var. tutuilensis.  What ever you want to call it, this plant is one tough Hoya to keep happy, and I’m just thankful that I had the chance to bloom it once, because it just does not like me at all.  I’ve killed it a number of times, and every time it starts growing nicely, a watering mistake sets it back.  Here is the video from last summer when it flowered.
