Just the Flowers Ma’am! Hoya waymaniae

Here is what I believe to be the world’s first time-lapse video of the flowers opening on Hoya waymaniae.  If it is not the world’s first, than I can guarantee that it is Vermont’s first!  I hope that you enjoy this peek into the secret life of a flower!

Here is a 50 second time-lapse of the flowers opening on Hoya engleriana.  This was one of the toughest videos that I ever made.  The flowers just didn’t want to open under 24/7 lighting and also kept turning away from the camera.  I ended up taking, get ready for this, 7,500 photographs of which I only used around 150 to make the film.  This video is dedicated to Julie Kennedy for giving me the plant.

A Visit with Hoya caudata
