The reason that I use these greenhouses here in Vermont is it gives my electricity bill a little bit of a break, and lets the plants get some fresh air. Every year here is what happens with the plants growth. The plants go out in mid-May, and they get set back fiercely from the cold temperatures and don’t begin to recover until the end of June. The plants only get growing really well from mid-July until the first of September, and then guess what? It is time to bring them back inside. It is a whole lot of work, but inside that six week strong growing period, they really can put on a lot of growth. Below a new leaf on the white flowered form of H. imperialis:
