I never really thought about the differences between the two plants until about a year and a half ago when someone emailed me a request for a cutting of H. calycina ‘Stargazer.’ They sent me a link to a VBN site, which is the umbrella organization for Dutch cooperative flower auctions.  I did not know that Dutch flower breeders, who are famous for their outstanding contributions to the horticultural world, had ever tackled a Hoya.  Well, apparently they threw their weight into Hoya calycina, and came up with Hoya calycina ‘Stargazer’ named after the Stargazer lily –  More to follow.
