Hoya archboldiana grew well outside this summer in one of my temporary tent greenhouses. It twined tightly around a piece of bamboo that I had inserted into the ground to tie the plants to. I use this method to stop the plants from tipping over in heavy winds, which can buffet the greenhouse knocking the Hoyas to the ground. Rather than try to untwine the vines and risk damaging them, I cut the bamboo off and tied the bamboo to the trellis when I repotted the Archie at the end of the summer.
