I was blown away when I first discovered this seed pod! I believe that finding a seed pod on this particular species is extremely rare, and almost unheard of in my neck of the woods. Hoya chinghungensis, bella and engleriana have very similar flowers and I have exposed hundreds of these blooms to insects over the past few years and never had one pollination. I believed that we just had no insects capable of pollinating these plants in Vermont, but apparently one of them found a way. I said I was not going to raise any more Hoyas from seed, but I will make an exception with this one as I have a particular affection for this species.
