The secret to growing Hoya acicularis is not to over water.  If you are wondering if you should water the plant, don’t do it; mist it instead.  It will grow well in the shade but will not flower.  I got my plant to develop peduncles under a small HID lamp.  Here is a shot of the back of the flower:
