Hoya dolichosparte originates in Sulawesi, an island in Indonesia. I have struggled with it off and on for three years, and finally bloomed it in 2013 by using the semi-hydro method of growing in leca. It was very susceptible to root rot when grown in my regular Hoya soil mix. When the plant is happy, it is capable of very vigorous growth spurts. It is a high humidity grower for sure, and quickly goes downhill in the house during a cold Northeast winter. I can’t really give this plant a high recommendation unless you live in a very warm, humid or tropical environment.
