Hoya cagayanensis is a plant from the Phililippines that I was finally able to bring into bloom after three years. It was a plant that I said “if I ever get this thing to bloom, I’m going to get rid of it!” I was never particularly fond of its leaves or growth pattern, but it is funny now that I have actually gotten it to flower, I’ve grown more fond of it! It is one of those Hoyas that is sensitive to watering patterns and shows its displeasure by getting those brown blotchy patches on its leaves. It needs to be watered very regularly and keep on the damp side. I bloomed it in the greenhouse, but am hopeful this year to do the same in my grow tent.
